THE DAY DREAMER

Who’s stayin’ home these days? Too soon? Well, all it has me doing is making a list of the next places we want to adventure.

Let us pause in a moment of appreciation for once upon a time legit true camera photos, and my rad ass sense of style?!?! lol Short back story, I have always been very blessed when it comes to travel, my family has always enjoyed it. My folks had us on the move from before I can remember. We didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up but somehow my folks always made a point to take us on family trips to travel, adventure, and see the country. Gosh, looking back I think I may have taken that stuff for granted a little. Sorry mom and dad, love y’all!! Anywho, it was always something. Summer trips in Florida, camping in Yellowstone, cross country road trips to Niagara Falls, cruises to tropical waters (my dads fave), Australia, Christmas skiing in the Swiss Alps, you name it, they’ve made that happen.

The love to travel and need to be outside never faded. Now, Kyle was never someone who traveled a whole lot when he was younger, but man y’all, I almost prefer it like that I think. To see his reaction to some of these places and things, I love it. As I’ve got older though I will say, the desire to explore more in the United States has become more of a thing for sure. Don’t get me wrong, the list of places I dream of still going outside of the US is lengthy however, I’ve just started to feel like we have so many incredible things yet to see here that are way more in our reach.

So, like I said this recent time at home has me making a list. I’m eager to put my head in the Mountains, the sand under my feet, and everything in between. Well, realistically this list will have to wait until times have improved, travel possible again, employment assessed (yep, still technically unemployed due to COVID-19), and all the things. But, right about now, if a girl can’t dream, run, and smell the plant life, I might go actual crazy. Oh ya, the list…. Not in any particular order.

Maine- Yep, just one word. I’ll take all the advice on where to go and stay, but something about staying on the lake in some town, eating all the food and hiking sounds magical!

Glacier National Park, Montana- Truth?? I could probably spend a whole season in Montana but we’ll start here maybe? Just google it. You’ll get it. But this national park seems to check all the boxes. Endless hiking, views, wildlife, sport.

Antelope Canyon, North Arizona on Navajo land- The colors that come out in these unique canyons seems right up my ally. Pictures on google will just not suffice, and my brain just NEEDS THIS captured in it.

Sequoia National Park, California- Let’s be serious, who doesn’t want to hike and wrap there arms around a tree? The size, age, and history behind them is just very intriguing to me.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming- I can’t look at another picture of this place and say I haven’t been there. And I’m not sure I know which season I’d want to go yet. Tough decision if you ask me. I’d dig seeing those views on a set of skis or my feet, not feeling picky with this one.

Seaside, Florida- Well, we were really hoping to cross this one off the list next month, buuuuuuuut. We’re really just ignoring it till we absolutely have to reschedule. Probably need to just go ahead and do this. BUT UGH… the small mom and pop lifestyle with sand under our toes and sea breeze in our hair will be what the doctor ordered, just maybe in September. #fingerscrossed

Colby Farm: Newbury, Massachusetts- This might seem like a strange one, but if you know me at all then maybe not so much. I’ve got a thing for a sunflower and I’ve heard this place doesn’t have a shortage. Too get lost in a field of Sunflowers…. COME ON!

Yellowstone National Park- Honestly, I haven’t been since I was a kid and we took a cross country road trip with my whole family. It’s probably one of my most memorable trips as a kid, and the nostalgia that would come with that trip really makes me smile. Plus, to be able to re experience all of that with Kyle would truly be a dream come true.

I have no doubt I could keep this list going for awhile. I also know that these will likely stay goals for the foreseeable future, but the second we can bust out of this house and load up the dogs, our back packs already packed! For now, I’ll go get my hands dirty outside.

Stay Sane y’all, we’re in this together!
