Head in the Clouds
That “head in the clouds” feeling…
The second I saw mountains in our view I immediately felt it. The feeling I’ve been anticipating. The air is so crisp it almost hurts to breathe, but in the most refreshing way, if that makes any sense. I could smell the pine needles and taste the snow. This trip with Kyle and our sweet friends is exactly the reset/refocus I need.
We’re 2 days into our trip and it has NOT disappointed
We kicked the trip off with a chill day at the most incredible mountain cabin. This house is seriously SO INCREDIBLE!! The owner thought of every thing it seems like. From the simple and classic Christmas decor to the heated floors (radiant heat or something, pretty sure I’ve heard the boys talking about this the whole trip and I’m still not sure I get how it works, just that it works) lol). I will say though, can we all admit that a crock pot, slow cooker, whatever you like to call it, should be a staple in every home. Just me? I mean nothing says “I’m on vacation and have zero desire to work real hard on dinner” like a crock pot.
Then there was day two… We hit the slopes running.. well ish. haha I grew up skiing with my family and although it had been awhile since I’d thrown on the ol’ ski boots, it was like riding a bike. I felt every rush, every break of wind in my face, and soaked up every bit of that crisp, hurts to breath air.. Then there’s my husbands experience. I know Kyle enough to know that he was going to want to “MASTER” skiing immediately and would be really tough on himself right off the bat. Kyle’s not someone who necessarily likes asking for help and after the firs run I stepped back and let his friends Chris and Jeff (Kyles besties) take over ski lessons. Chris told him what I definitely couldn’t “I’m going to take those damn poles away from you if you keep using them as a crutch”. Well isn’t that a little life lesson thrown into some snow for ya?

We’re headed up to the mountains again today. It’s snowmobiling for day 3. Snowmobiling at 13,000 ft.. This should be interesting, standby….
