New Years Resolution Vs. New Shoes

Running. If you’ve even kind of just started following along, you’ll see that running has become a part of who I am. Starting as a way to outsource some anxiety, it’s quickly become an addiction.

Why do you run or workout? Is it for your head? Your physical appearance? Health kick? Or maybe the New Year is coming up and that could be a good reason so start something new?

Now I personally have never been a fan of the “New Years Resolution”

However, I could always appreciate it being a reason for people to find some way of bettering themselves. In whatever capacity that may be. This New Year I won’t be looking for a New Years Resolution but instead a new pair of running shoes. When I took up running seriously, I went to our local running store (Fleet Feet), and they put me on a treadmill and told me to run. They broke down my running style and without any hesitation brought me out the Brooks Ghost 11 running shoe for women. Having never bought running shoes before I 100% trusted the stores recommendation. And they definitely have NOT let me down.

This New Year though it’s time to hang ‘em up and get new. But the debate is real and I have heard all sides. Do I stick to what I know works for me and my running style or do I branch out and try something new? I’ve heard really great things from fellow friends and bloggers about Nike Zoom and also the Adidas Ultraboost. Being a long time Adidas lover, I just pulled the trigger on the Ultraboost and my hopes are set HIGH!

This year though I’m focusing less on the New Years Resolution, and more on the New Year New Shoes concept. I’m going to branch out and try new shoes this year and who knows. In a year i could be right back in my Brooks, but for now it feels good to step out of the comfort zone and run a different mile.

I’ll be rooting for y’all and whatever “New Shoe” you try this New Year
