Following Fall to Montana

WHITEFISH MONTANA STOLE MY HEART

A couple months ago as a new first time stay at home mom, I was getting the itch. Fall obsessed and stir crazy I had a wild hair to go somewhere new. I typed in places to visit in Montana and Whitefish quickly came to surface. I had never gone to Montana but knew that it was an easy toss up for gorgeous views and Fall colors but Whitefish seemed like the perfect quiet getaway. It definitely DID NOT DISAPPOINT. This sleepy little town is just 30 minutes from Glacier National Park and is the perfect spot for the outdoors lover. We took our 3 month old daughter Sloane, so the hiking we were able to do this trip were limited but it didn’t stop us from soaking in all the Glacier National Park wonders and views. We flew in to Kalispell, which is a very small airport but the drive to Whitefish was only about 15 minutes. The short commute was what I was after, but the flight prices to Fly here weren’t any more expensive than flying to a bigger airport, so the decision was easy for me. We rented a car because I wanted to venture to the National Park, but you could definitely go without a vehicle if you wanted to. The shot to the right though would definitely have NOT been possible without renting a car.

Kyle and I usually look for different things when we look for places to stay but this time I geared it towards Kyle. Kyle enjoys staying places that are walking distances to restaurants, bars and shops so the condo I found was perfect . The Galleries of Whitefish accommodated all of the convenient needs. With an assigned parking pass and an adorable view of main street, it was well within walking distance to the towns shopping, coffee shops, and bars/restaurants. The code check in and entry made it convenient and easy to come and go. This picture was taken in the common area of our condo. They had a variety of games and activities for families to do while staying at the property.

This photo was taken at the cutest floral shop located in the heart of downtown Whitefish called Mums. They sprinkled the street with gorgeous pre made Fall bouquets and their outside ambiance is what Instagram posts are made of. This quaint little shop offered all the sweet plant lady gifts and decor, making it a hit for this gal. The decor and gifts though were second to the adorable atmosphere that filled the room with fresh blooms and the DIY bouquet experience. The shop specializes in weddings, with photos to prove how incredible floral can be and that they are up to the bridal task.

Let’s chat food for a second. The picture to the right was taken at Jaliscos. Jaliscos is a taco bar that we drove about 5 minutes to. Tacos in Montana sounded kind of crazy to me but this adorable little restaurant was SO GOOD!!! The fried avocado tacos were second to none and you cant go wrong with the Jalopenarita, it was the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. The rest of my experiences were much more of a cafe style experience. The quaint, small, pay as you walk out, cafe style restaurant is by far the most popular vibe. Loulas was hands down our favorite breakfast spot with what I would consider top notch biscuits and gravy. We ventured to Jersey Boys PIzzeria by accident one day and Y’ALL, if you make it to Whitefish, do NOT go without stopping here. With amazing service, the best pizza, smallest little space, and a rotating tap, this place was right up Kyle and I’s ally. It was the perfect accidental local pit stop.

I can usually judge a trip by how long Kyle talks about it when we get back home… and its safe to say Whitefish will be a frequently visited place by the Bandys. It was the perfect little town for Kyle and I to experience traveling with Sloane, and we can’t wait to get back out there and scope out the next little town.
