Who Nose?

I’ve had my nose pierced twice. Once when I was 18 and then again when I was 27. And it always gets me a lot of questions. I don’t want to go as far as to say I don’t know who I would be without it, buuuuuuut it’s definitely something I can’t imagine not having. I remember when Kyle and I got married it was a REAL conversation with myself and some of my closest. Our wedding photos would be around forever and was it something I wanted in every photo. I made the decision to wear it, because without it I just feel a little less myself. And who wants to feel less than themselves on their wedding day? Anyways, I get questioned from time to time about taking it out. If i, do I, when I do i replace it with something. Honestly, if I could I would probably wear the gold hoop all the time. But I’m a dental assistant and although I feel like its a stretch to say I”m in the “medical field” however, it’s absolutely a career that requires a more discrete IF AT ALL look. WOAH… this is a lot of my face lol

Honestly, if I could I would probably wear the gold hoop all the time. It’s my weekender though for sure. I prefer all of my nose rings to be a smaller gauge. the two that are pictured are both a 20 gauge however, I prefer the 22 gauge but they seem to be slightly more difficult to find in the style I like. The hoop in this picture I got while I was in Boulder last May and actually went into a jewler, purchased it, and they placed it for me. I wanted them to show me how to put it in correctly as I usually end up bending them. This one does not have a clasp or any kind of hook to latch. It simply bends closed. I have tried multiple ones from stores like Claires and websites like Amazon though with a few choices. I definitely would recommend going to a jeweler though if you’re a first time hooper : )

Then there’s the work week when I have to morph into a more subdued version of my nose ring self!! So, on Tuesday mornings I generally make the switch to what you see in the photo on the right. I’ve tried ever stud under the book. pig tail, straight, clasp, bend yourself, big, small, colored, clear. Hands down the stud I’ve found to like the most is a Fibre Bioflex post with the L shape bend in it with a clear diamond. Same gauge as the hoop, this one is a 20 but I like the 22 as well. When it comes to the stud I prefer the diamond to be super small. Almost to mimic glitter as opposed to a nose ring. This helps to keep it discrete with a touch of flare.

I’ve linked a few of my faves over at my liketoKNOW.it. Go to the Shop My Closet Link for the quickest route. Hope it’s helpful.

Keep being nosy y’all, and I’ll keep filling ya in as I go.
